Question : Hello, I am taking 1.5 mg vraylar in the morning for schizoaffective disorder, 100 mg luvox in the morning for ocd, 150 mg trileptal in the morning and 300 mg at night for mood stabilization, 5 mg propranolol in the morning and 10 mg at night for tachycardia, 0.5 mg klonopin in the morning and 1 mg at night for anxiety, and 150 mg wellbutrin XL in the morning for depression. I also take a gummy multivitamin and gummy vitamin C in the afternoon. I wanted to know if it was safe to take cbd oil with these medications. I read that cbd oil can increase the effects of klonopin and propranolol and could cause your blood pressure to go too low. So do you think it's safe for me to take cbd oil with my medications and if so, what dosage should I take?
Brief Answer:
It is not safe
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I do not see any reason for use of CBD oil for a person with schizoaffective disorder as CBD oil can destabilise the mood as well as psychopathology. There is ample evidence to suggest that CBD oil can cause psychosis among the illness naive subjects and can cause relapse among the individuals with previous history of psychosis.
In addition the CBD oil alters metabolism of multiple medications resulting in altered effect and side effect.
Considering these two facts I feel you should avoid use of CBD oil unless it is very necessary.
I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
