Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy is the best examination for bowel lesions

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for asking at healthcaremagic.

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

It is true that sometimes these examinations might not detect polys and diverticulosis in the colon and rectum.

The best examinaiton to detect colon problems is called colonoscopy that is an examination with a small camera that goes along the bowel and visualises the inner layer of the colon.

This test needs a preparation of the bowel, you will need to empty the bowel first to make possible better visualization.

The rest of the tests, you have mentioned, might be used to examine other abdominal organs but not specific for the bowel.

I hope this is helpful and answers to your questions but please feel free to reply in case more clarification is needed on this.

Kind regards,

Antoneta Zotaj, MD
