Hello,

My father in law is at a stage M1b with his prostate cancer. He has recently been administered his first round of Chemotherapy. Can you tell me what ro expect next:
1. If the chemo works
2. If it doesn't work as we expect it to

he needs to go for second cycle therapy

Since your father was given chemotherapy, it means he has CRPC , castrate resistant prostrate cancer. coming to your questions
1) response evaluation is done after 2 to 3cycles. never after one cycle. Hence he will go for second cycle.
2) If he doesnt respond, chemotherapy will be changed
