Hello and thank you for your question.
Buproprion is the generic name for wellbutrin. It is used to treat depression at a dose of 150 mg once to twice a day. It is not good for anxiety, but is one of the medications that can treat depression in some people with less side effects than some other medications.
It is also packaged as Zyban and in that case it is used for smoking cessation.
It seems to help people stop smoking by cutting down the craving for the nicotine.
