Question : What is EPI?
Brief Answer:
Very rare condition.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is a condition that occurs when the pancreas fails to synthesize digestive enzymes. Due to this, people with EPI cannot properly digest the nutrients in food such as fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.
Fecal fat test, Fecal elastase test, and pancreatic enzyme test would be done to diagnose it.
Treatment is generally the lifelong use of the external digestive enzyme to digest carbohydrate, fat, and protein.
Hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you!
