Question : Is probenecid utilized for treatment of gout attack or for prevention? Same question for probenecid? Can both drugs be taken at the same time?

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that , probenecid increases the excretion of uric acid in urine so its used for prevention rather than treatment . I think by mistake you have repeated same drugs name . If you want to ask about some other drug please mention that . Any other please ask.

Colchicine is the other medication I meant to put in the first question, prevention or for treatment of gout?

Dear Sir,

Colchicine is for treating the acute phase of the disease and not for prevention . It is generally used for subsiding the inflammation in gout and then stopped subsequently . It can be taken with probenecid but more commonly used in combination with allopurinol or febuxostat.
