Question : my niece just had surgery and the doctor was very suprised when they opened her up, they founed a sack that had bursted, they then sowed the bag up and then continued the surgery. My question to you is what was this bag and where is it located and its function.
Brief Answer:
Probably hernia sack
Detailed Answer:
Hi there , Welcome to HCM.
If this was abdominal surgery then they were probably talking about hernia sac which is commonly found as incidental finding and can be easily repaired.
Also it may have been fluid filled cyst . In every case if this was something serious then surgeon would have told her that.
Please let me know if you are having any further doubts.
Wish you and your niece a good health.
Regards
