Question : What is a split heartbeat?
Brief Answer:
S2 split.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I am here to help you.
Split Heart sound is a normal physiological phenomenon.
There are four heart sounds during a cardiac cycle.
1. S1
2. S2
3. S3
4. S4.
The S2 component has further two components Aortic Component (A2) and Pulmonary component (P2). So in S2 first A2 comes and then P2. This is called as Normal Physiological Split Heart Sound S2.
This is a normal phenomenon. But there is any variation there there comes an organic cause.
So this was in general about the Split Heart Sound.
If you want to discuss the problem if any with me you can please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
