Question: I am a 48 year old female. I have a history of tachycardia with a normal rythm. I also experience fluctuations in blood pressure. I am currently taking 100 mg of meterprol beta blocker. The beta blocker is helping my heart rate stay steady around 70 bpm my blood pressure is usually around 135/low 90's. I recently had an echo and was found to have dialostic dysfunction stage 1. I have an appointment with my dr in three weeks and am very anxious. I have been feeling very fatigues lately and am worried about my heart. What is dialostic dysfunction and is it a form of heart failure? Can it be reversed?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that diastolic dysfunction may be quite reversible.

So, there is no reason to panic!

I recommend trying to have a better control of your blood pressure values, avoiding alcohol intake or smoking.

A healthy diet is also advisable.

I recommend checking thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction.

Hope you will find this information helpful!
