Brief Answer:
dose is 1-3,3-5 gms depending when why and how

Detailed Answer:
Ayurveda is based on the principle of tridosh that is vatt pit kaph. Triphla is an excellent combination of three herbs harad ,bahera and amla which have a potential to increase the immunity and to restore the imbalance of vatt pit and kaph. In Ayurveda it is used in multiple forms viz churan(powder) him (cold decoction) kshay (after boiling) and tablets.

As per the dose is concerned, it depends upon age and strength of a person. In old persons and in children usual dose is 1gm and in all other cases depending upon the strength of the person it varies from 3-5gms.

In Ayurveda, we give great importance as to with what medicine is to be administered we call it anupan to detoxify usually recommended dose is 3gm to be dipped in a glass of water boiled and filtered when 1/4th of it remains the liquid filtered is taken when slightly hot early in the morning. The dose can be adjusted as suited to the individual person by the attending doctor.
