if my joints be swelling and hurting alot do you think I have fibromyalgia
Brief Answer:
Can be polyarthralgia.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that affects the muscles and soft tissue. Symptoms include chronic muscle pain, fatigue, sleep problems, and painful tender points or trigger points, which can be relieved through medications, lifestyle changes and stress management.
The swelling and pain in the joints can be due to polyarthralgia. Other causes can be rheumatoid arthritis, gout, inflammatory diseases like SLE, bursitis, fibromyalgia, etc. For proper diagnosis, some of the blood tests are advisable like-
1. Serum calcium levels.
2. Serum Uric acid levels.
3. RA factor
4. ESR and CRP
5. Serum Creatinine
6. X-ray of affected joints.
Hope my answer is helpful.
