Question : Hi I’ve had periodontal disease and Sx several times. Now my gums r receding and the roots are appearing below my crowns and gums r painful. What is going on????

Well, gum recession and pain in gums can be due to gum disease only and this can be an Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Petiodontal disease.
But before I can provide you more details please let me know the following details:
- Please specify you age, sex.
- Any medical history or are you on any chronic medication?
- Ant history of allergies?
- You have specified a term Sx, can you clarify qhat what it exactly means?
- Also please click pictures of your teeth and gums and upload.

I am 48 year old female and have had complete periodontal surgery both upper and lower 3 times (cutting and cleaning). I am on topomax 300mg and Zoloft 50mg for ptsd
My father had periodontal disease as well

Thanks for the reply.

Well, the symptoms seems to be due to Periodontal Disease only.
This should not be treated at home.
You should consult a Periodontist and get evaluated.
You might need Gum grafts or other periodontal procedures done, but before this x- rays has to be takes to evaluate the amount of bone loss.
Get it checked at the earliest to avoid loosening of teeth and further gum recession.
