Question : What is grade 1 sprain of the Mcl and evidence of recent patellar dislocation with anterolateral contusion of the femoral condyle and medial patella with severe chondrimalcia and denuded patellar cartilage at the apex and medially. Fluid tracking along central patellar tendon and semi membranous bursar cyst after an injury mean?
Brief Answer:
Surgery is not needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The grade I sprain of MCL represents a minor disruption of some of the fibers of ligament. It is a minor injury and heals in 3-4 weeks with rest and conservative treatment.
The contusion of condyle is due to a blunt injury to the area and heals with rest. Chondromalacia and fluid in the tendon is suggestive of degenerative changes due to wear and tear and due to inflammation in the area. This will subside with anti inflammatory medicines and physiotherapy exercises after the injury has properly healed. Surgery is not needed for this minor injury.
I hope this answers your query.
