Brief Answer: Please find detailed answer below Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing in to us. I suppose you are interested in knowing the medical term for the bones in the pelvis. The tail bone (the bone located exactly in the center between the two buttocks is known as coccyx. Pain in the tail bone is termed Coccydynia. Superiorly the coccyx is connected to the sacrum. The blade like bones in the pelvis on either side and in the buttock region are known as innominate bones. The innominate bone is formed by the fusion of 3 bones ilium, ischium and pubis, the fusion occurs during childhood. Hope your query is answered. Do write back if you have any doubts. Wishing you good health. Regards, Dr,Vivek
