Question : what is the best medication for pharyngitis. I also have fever and getting temp upto 102 degreeF, I had Calpol 650 mg .

1. The best frontline antibiotic for pharyngitis will be amoxycillin clavulanate 625 mg twice a day after meals for 5 days, provided you are not allergic to penicillin based antibiotics.

I do not have fever . I have taken 02 antibiotic (Augmentin 1g, duo) .Also I am having levocetzine (1 Tab) before sleep. I stll have problem swallowing food. I feel pain.

Shall I keep doing warm water gargle. How much time is required for the cure of throat infection.

Hi thanks for the follow up. You can add a pain killer with the antibiotic, I usually suggest Ibuprofen with paracetamol 2 times a day for 3 days. It will take 3 to 5 days for reduction in symptoms.
Do throat gargling with povidine iodine and warm water.
