What Is The Best Way To Approach A Doctor Without Sounding Like A Drug Seeker?

Question: Good Morning. I hope that you are already having a nice day. Thank you for helping through this online medium.
I have been diagnosed with a number of physical, emotional and behavioral maladies. Honestly, I don't think that psych diagnosis is correct. I was diagnosed with Bi Polar disorder in 1994 but after careful research, I believe the Dr. was hell bent on diagnosing everyone as Bi Polar. I am extremely educated and believe that I have ADHD. I have been exhibiting myriad symptoms since I was a child to include, unable to sit still, dominating a conversation, poor listing skills (until I became a trained sales person), inability to study when I was wasn't interested in a subject, brain fog, and about 20 other symptoms.
Question, I really need to be on medication. What is the best way to approach a doctor without sounding like a drug seeker? I have to take Morphine for collapsed spinal syndrome and have 9 herniated or bulging disks. I get lidocaine and steroid pain injections also. I initiated and requested a reduction from 225mg of Morphine per day to 90mg. I have tried to take less but inevitably I end up in the ER when I take less. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Confirmatory tests should help

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Since you suspect yourself to have ADHD I would insist you to visit a psychologist and ask for confirmatory test for ADHD. The psychologist may also like to apply a screening test first. These tests are based on standardized and validated questionnaire and you would need to answer the questions the psychologist asks. I assume that would give you a definite diagnosis parametrically and which is not based on the whims of any doctor. Thereafter you can take the report to a psychiatrist and he will write the necessary medicines for you and yet you would not sound like a drug seeker.

Do not hesitate to write back.
