What Is The Best Way To Handle A Suspected Problem In CBG?

Posted on Fri, 24 Jul 2015
Question: What is the best way to test for CBG?
Is one blood test for cortisol binding globlulin reliable, or can they go up and down? If you want to check for this, is the blood test alone enough, or should you also check Serpina6? Thanks!

Brief Answer:
clinical examination must

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare magic.
The best way to handle a suspected problem in CBG is to consult a local physician or endocrinologist.
He will interview you for your symptoms and signs and also family history.
Serpina6 is not tested initially, a general clinical examination is conducted including vitals, initial tests are CBG level, cortisol level and blood glucose levels, all on morning fasting blood sample.
One CBG sample along with this work is good enough, but it may be repeated at different intervals if the physician needs any clarification.
I hope the advise will be helpful for you.
