Antihistamines, antibiotics and nasal decongestants are helpful

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam,
Thanks for writing to hcm.
I am Dr. Riyanka glad to be helping you with your query.

Allergies are caused due to hypersensitivity reaction of the body immune system to various allergens.
It can be treated by giving The patient oral medications like:
1. Tablet Cetrizine 10mg once a day at night (as it may causes drowsiness in some people) for
about 7 days.
Cetrizine is most commonly used . However, other drugs that can be used are cromolyn sodium, montelukast etc.

Sinus problems can be treated with:

1. Oral Antibiotics - Tablet Amoxycillin 500mg 3 times a day for ten days in
acute cases and in recurrent sinusitis for 3-4 weeks)
2. Nasal decongestants like - xylometazoline sprays to relief nasal
congestion.
3. Antihistamines like Tablet Cetrizine 10mg once a day at night.
4. If there is any fever - Tablet paracetamol 500mg every 6hours till fever
stops.

In Recurrent sinusitis an X ray of the sinuses may be helpful to diagnose the problem.

Kindly note: Please take medications only after consulting a registered medical practitioner.

Hope your query is answered.
