                                            Question : Good afternoon Dr.
My daughter 14 yrs old suffers from continous running nose and watery in her eyes. My family doctor suggested Levocetrizine which she was using from last 3 months. Now she has been prescribed Lerafil (Levocetrizine with Ranitidine) and Eofil tablets. As long as she take medicine she is benefitted and the day she leaves the medicines the next day she gets running nose and watery in her eyes. some times raches on her upper body also exists.
kindly suggest what to do as she is daily on the said medicine. is it recommended to take daily for such a long time (since six months). What is the permanent remedy for this. I shall be grateful for the guidence.
My regards,
XXXX

                                    Brief Answer:
Can be ALLERGIC RHINITIS
Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Sir, your daughter is mostly suffering with Allergic Rhinitis.
Drug of choice is nasal spray mixed with antihistamine and mild steroids like ( budisonide nasal spray or flohale nasal spray) should be given twice to four hourly.
Along with this montileukast and levocetrizine once a day for long time will help a lot. Discuss all about this with your doctor.
Hope the query is answered.
Please feel free for further clarification.
Thanks
