Question : Hi in the last 2 days I have had a dry mouth, runny nose, post nasal drip down the back of my throat. I am also coughing up a bit of phlegm. I feel a bit tired and am trying to rest as much as I can. A few days ago I visited my dentist to get a crown removed and a new one put on as my gumline was a bit inflamed. The crown seems to settling in my teeth ok but my gumline is still a bit inflamed. I am note sure if my tooth gum problem is connected to my other problems above but I think I may have developed a sinus infection. I am not sure whether to go back to my dentist or see my local GP next week Please advise

Brief Answer:
Not related to dental treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having allergic rhino sinusitis. The last dental procedure / tooth-gum problem don't seem to be related.

If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed antihistamines + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily for 3 to 5 days. Your pharmacist will know about the drugs. If symptoms persists, then please consult with your doctor and get evaluated.

Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
