Brief Answer:
don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic .

I have read your query and understand your concern .

Fatty liver occurs due to excess fat in body like in obese patients where fat get deposited into liver cells .

Another cause is alcohol intake which impair fat metabolism. This is most common cause.

It depends on grade of fatty liver. Grade 1 and 2 are not dangerous but may proceed to cirrhosis if not treated.

Treatment includes weight reduction if you are obese particularly abdominal fat reduction. And complete stoppage of alcohol intake if you are alcoholic.

I would suggest you to start liver protective drugs after consulting your doctor which helps in improving liver function and thus reducing fatty liver.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help .

Regards

Brief Answer:
by ultrasound

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Usually grade of fatty liver will be mentioned in ultrasound report itself. If in your report its not mentioned then you can revisit the radiologist and get the details.

Also if you don't have abdominal pain at liver site and in ultrasound report there is no gross enlargment of liver that suggest grade 1 .

I would suggest you to reduce your abdominal fat.

Hope I have been helpful . If any further queries are there I would love to help .

Brief Answer:
reduce your weight

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
The discomfort is due to stretching of the capsule of the liver. As and when you will reduce your weight the fatty deposition in it will reduce and the size of your liver will decrease, so the discomfort will also come down.

Dr. Deepika Patil
