Question: Need suggestion on Menstrual Problem
I have Menstrual problem. I am irregular by 4 months. and so contacted a Gynaecologist and she advised me to take the above mentioned tablets for a month and come after using them. I have completed the medication and waiting for doctor appointment. In mean time I want to take second opinion. Please help me in this regard

I have gone through the reports, read your query and I understand your concerns.

1) Medications you are advised contains oral contraceptive pill.
2) As long as you are on these medications you may get regular cycles. But once you stop again cycles are likely to be irregular.
3) Main reason for irregular cycles in your age group is polycystic ovaries (PCO) which has been diagnosed on ultrasound scan as well as hormonal levels and different medicines need to be taken depending upon whether you are willing for pregnancy now or later.
4) Please ask your doctor to start on tablet metformin meanwhile. Also I suggest you to lose weight if you are overweight.
5) Let me know if you are trying for pregnancy so that I can give advice accordingly.

I am not trying for pregnancy right now. Haemoglobin level is 11.5

Try to reduce body weight to normal weight, if you are overweight. This helps in regularising menstruation in majority of women.
