Detailed Answer:
Hi
I went through your query and understood your concerns.
Your symptoms are suggestive of nasal block. Since it depends on pollen count you may be suffering from allergic rhinitis. In such condition due to blockage of eustation tube or due to increase in the serous secretion in middle ear you may face such problems.
If a patient comes to me with these symptoms i usually start them on the following measures.
1. salt warm water gargling.
2. Steam inhalation 3-4 times a day.
3. antihistamine medication like cetrizine with anti inflammatory drug like acetaminophen to reduce congestion and hence symptoms. For 3 days.
4. Montelukast nasal spray which will reduce allergic reaction and also help in reducing the size of nasal polyp which may develop due to chronic allergy.
5. Avoiding cold food items for few days.
6. For opening of eustation tube and hence for good ventilation keep chewing some thing.
Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask further related query and I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
Regards
