Question : Hello Dr, i have been facing lower back pain problem for couple of years. I experienced this problem first time when i was traveling by bus. Since then there is some hidden pain on my lower back. It appears very quite often. I don't feel any numbness in my legs or feet. I recently met a Neurologist specialist and he said there is noting happened to my back, everything is normal. He said that's muscle pain and he advised to take some medicines and advised to follow sitting and sleeping positions and directions. Below are list of medicines i am asked to follow.
1. TRYPTOMBER 10MG
2. HIFENAC P TABLET

Finally what i would like to ask you is, is there something to suspect? Do i need to take scan or something for back back?

Brief Answer:
MRI scan is not needed at present.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms. They are suggestive of mechanical back pain and muscle spasm. We do not suspect any pinching of nerves in the lower back, as there is no pain, tingling or numbness of legs.

At this stage, there is no need to go for MRI scan of spine.

In addition to the medications, you would also benefit from physiotherapy. In that, they would do IFT/ultrasound to relieve back pain and also teach you back extension exercises, which you should do on daily basis.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Brief Answer:
This can be done by a physiotherapist.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

IFT (Inter Ferential Therapy) and ultrasound are techniques used by physiotherapists to relieve the muscle spasm and stiffness, and thereby, these reduce the pain also.

These techniques can be done by using simple equipments by any experienced physiotherapist.

Best wishes,
