If she stands pain is too much and also in the morning she is unable to get from the bed and with help after getting from the bed there is severe pain atleast for one hour, after that it reduces. MRI report is there and doctor is advising to go for surgery.but we are worried since age is 73 years and weight is around 80 kg. can u please advise what we can do for this, whether we have to go for surgery or not

Brief Answer:
Surgery looks only option.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Looking at the MRI report surgery seems only option. The disc material has significantly come out and it is compressing on the nerves way too much.

So only surgery can help relieve the nerves and reduce her symptoms.

Her age is surely a factor. But there are nowadays minimally invasive surgeries done through scopy.
Discuss about them with your doctor. This way you will reduce her exposure to surgery related issues.

Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.

can u please suggest a good surgeon in XXXXXXX district of Tamilnadu,
If not any good hospital/surgeon in Tamilnadu.

Brief Answer:
Sorry but home remedies and exercise wont help.

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to say, but home remedies and exercise wont help at this stage.

Allopathic medications can help relieve pain.Gentle massage and local analgesic can help.

I am not aware about whether there is such surgeon at XXXXXXX but you get her MRI to XXXXXXX and discuss there with doctors.Doctors do travel out to do such procedures.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
First objective is to reduce pain then walking

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Yes , both pain will reduce and she will be able to walk when nerves are free from compression.

Its difficult to predict cost as depends on hospital policies and doctors skills.

But it won't be very high than regular surgery.

Risk factor are same as any other surgery like infection , fibrosis , needing care for other body system as she is old.

Regards
