Question : Hello! I had unprotected penetrative sex (I'm a female and he's a male, he pulled out before finishing) this afternoon with a guy who is an ex heroin addict (has been clean for ten years). I know it was a stupid thing to do, I completely forgot in the heat of the moment. He said he doesn't have any STDS, but I'm super worried about getting HIV. What should I do now? Should I take PEP? Thank you!
Brief Answer:
PEP is not recommeded. STD screening at 4 weeks

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist and venereoligist).
I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Since there was no exposure to semen so there is negligible risk of HIV and therefore PEP is not recommeded regardless of his HIV status. Nevertheless you should undergo a complete STD screening at 4 weeks including HIV.
