Question : Is there a relationship between prostate cancer and recurrence of herpes exhibited by redness/swelled patches around anal area? Herpes was contracted around 1990. Symptoms rarely occur before.

Usually there is no correlation between prostate cancer and herpes. But if it is advanced prostate cancer and/or chemotherapy has been applied then it can reduce body's immunity and cause herpes.

Probably the herpes infection here is unrelated.
