Brief Answer: Tonsillar fossa and tonsils Detailed Answer: Hi, There are pharyngeal and tonsillar arches in the throat that are similar in color as that of the mouth. They hold tonsillar fossa and tonsils in it. You would find normal anatomy most often. Do you have any problems that made you look closely into the oral cavity?

I'm the kind of person that worries about things more than I should. I was told I could have Candida but I don't have thrush. I've been getting pains in my neck, pressure also making my chin feel funny, ear stuffiness, ear drainage, and ear popping. A sore throat every now and then, I was looking at my throat, it looks fine and my nose really don't run or anything. I do have drainage in the back of throat and I've been told drainage will do that, that I need to take some allergy medicine. I do have gallbladder disease, has it for years and I have other symptoms of Candida but always thought it was gallbladder issues. Oh and my ears are itchy and dry inside.I have almost every symptom of Candida but thrush and no rash. I've had a rash before though. If I have Candida I believe I've had it for awhile

Brief Answer: Allergic or Immunodeficiency Detailed Answer: Hi, Recurrent sorethroat, ear drainage, stuffines with drainage at the back of throat are more to do with allergies esp Allergic sinusitis. Did you see an ENT doctor for this or Xray PNS? If someone has doubts about candida, I would straight away go for evidence. Mouth scraping and microscopy. I would also try to understand if she has predisposition for candida (Immunodeficiency). These include Fasting blood sugar, HIV, Hepatitis B, CBC. If I do not find any positive result I would brush candida off by prescribing simple mouth wash. However I would still keep it in mind if the person is positive for sinusitis. The chance of candida increase in chronic sinusitis. Oral hygiene is extremely important. Staying away from allergens, nasal wash are key to keep allergies / sinusitis at bay. So my suggestion for you today is: Mouth wash / Rinse twice a day Consult ENT surgeon Xray PNS Skin patch test for allergens Is this helpful? Let me know other concerns.

My blood sugar does drop that comes with gallbladder issues and my gallbladder is infected I have no stones. Can that cause Candida? My wisdom teeth stay sore, I was supposed to get them out. The gums around them stay sore is what I meant can they cause sinus problems. I don't have insurance at the moment so its hard to see a doctor

Brief Answer: yes Detailed Answer: Gall bladder issues would not cause candida. Yeah gingivitis can lead to sinusitis as they are close by structures. Mouth rinse can delay serious infections.

Brief Answer: Continue gargles Detailed Answer: Hi, Pharyngitis sounds like this. It can be as a result of sinusitis. Most of such problems resolve even before we actually diagnose it. I suggest you to continue with warm and saline gargles. It is the best antiseptic that does not cost you much.

I seen white stuff in the back of my throat the other day , pus, I drank something and it went away. Today I coughed a green mucus up with a tad of blood. The throat glands hurt, my throat gets sore from time to time. Sometimes it really hurts. It is red sorry for the confusion. I didn't finish the medicine maybe thats why its getting worse. When I blow my nose i see a little blood. These are my symptoms, what can this be. Sorry to keep bothering you, im just worried.

Brief Answer: Pharyngitis Detailed Answer: Pharyngitis as I said. If you are seeing a quarter to half cup yellow colored sputum per day it is better to start on antibiotic again. If the sputum is thick and sticky, eosniphilia and allergies should be considered as well. Blowing nose hard will rupture some capillaries when they are fragile. So little blood is not worrisome.

I've had this for over a month. I don't really have to blow my nose it stays pretty dry. That was the only colored mucus I seen. The white stuff I seen looked like mucus, I didn't know there was a such thing. how long is this supposed to last?

Answered by Dr. Chakravarthy Mazumdar (2 hours later)
Brief Answer: Till the capillary closes Detailed Answer: The capillaries close soon and there would no blood when you blow nose. It would last till the time your allergy/infection stays.

How long will my swollen painful glands last, this is what's bothering me most. They have been like this for over a month
doctor
Answered by Dr. Chakravarthy Mazumdar (10 minutes later)
Brief Answer: Not to be ignored Detailed Answer: If the glands are swollen and painful over a month this is not a good sign. It needs investigations further. Unless we find the cause of the swelling it is difficult to say when does it subside

What can it be, can my gallbladder cause it by infecting my blood. I get chills all the time and threw up a few times during the night within the past few months

Answered by Dr. Chakravarthy Mazumdar (7 minutes later)
Brief Answer: Not Gall bladder Detailed Answer: A number of reasons can be drawn. First thing is Blood counts, ESR and chest Xray will help to rule out common infections. Get back to me with these. Most of the time we cannot have concrete answers without physical examination.

Do you think it could be cancer, thats the first thing I think about, the only ones are the ones right under my jaw, I also have my wisdom teeth
doctor
Answered by Dr. Chakravarthy Mazumdar (13 minutes later)
Brief Answer: Cancer is last Detailed Answer: I would think of wisdom tooth first. The other reasons are simple oral infections, pharygitis, sinusitis.
