Question : Dr., I have a question concerning vitamin D.

1. Every week I consume 25,000 IU of vitamin D2
2. Also, every day, I consume 30 mcg of vitamin D3
3. My question is, what is the difference between D2 and D3?

Also is there any problem with consuming vitamin D in this fashion every week?

Finally, What benefits do I gain by consuming D2 and D3?

Brief Answer:
Should only be consumed if you know you are vitamin d deficient.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Vitamin d3 is active form of vitamin d.
While d2 is precursor of vitamin d3
Vitamin d is must for many body functions and must be within XXXXXXX limits.
Now whether you should take vitamin d or not that depends on your serum vitamin d levels.
If it is deficient then you should take it otherwise not.

I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards
