Question : what is the difference between Daktacort and Daktarin? Which product is preferable ? I think the symptoms I am having for which the doctors prescribed above product in balanitis ?

Hello,

daktarin contains miconazole which is an antifungal agent. Daktacort contains miconazole and a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids reduce inflammation but they may also predispose to fungal infections. Daktacort can be used for fungal infections with excessive inflammation until the inflammation is contained (usually within 1-2 days). Daktodor has to be used for longer in fungal infections without inflammation and also following treatment with daktacort until the fungus is eliminated.
