Question : What's the difference between a mass and a lump?
Brief Answer:
no real difference
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
although there is no real difference (and lump is not a medical term) we usually use the word "mass" for suspiciously malignant lumps. Lumps could be anything from simple cysts to malignant tumors. We tend to call lumps the benign protuberances or palpable structures within the breast but any (benign or malignant) structure is a lump.
Kind Regards!
