Brief Answer:
diverticulitis is inflammed/infected dierticulosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

Diverticulosis occurs when small, bulging pouches develop in your digestive tract. When one or more of these pouches become inflamed or infected, the condition is called diverticulitis.

Diverticulosis are common in the elderly. They are more common among person who eat small quantities of fiber, vegetable and fruits and more of fast food and also persons who are often constipated. Healthy diet(fruits, vegetables, fibers) and regular bowel movements help prevent the onset of diverticulosis and eventual diverticulitis.

This means that the bulging pouches that are not infected are called diverticulosis. They cause no symptoms and are usually silent. when they become inflamed or infected, they cause symptoms which may include severe abdominal pain and fever.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our service and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
