I've been having some panic attacks earlier this year, but was diagnosed with anxiety. But my question is, what if it's not? Caffeine was triggering my attacks, also now I get maybe once in a 3 month minor attack. It feels like mind is on overdrive, feeling that about either pass out or lose contactwith reality, raising burning sensation in body and feeling of fear in stomach, I know this is text book anxiety symptoms but nevertheless how partial seizure is different in terms of symptoms?

Brief Answer:
You need an brain EEG.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Fear, upset stomach, changes in body sensitivity, triggered by caffeine, disconnected with realty, all these symptoms may be seizure arising from temporal lobe of brain, but also could be consequences of anxiety.

I suggest you to consult a Neurologist, discuss your concerns and possibility of an EEG of brain that could differentiate seizures from non seizures.

Hope this helps. If you have further questions feel free to ask.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks Doc. So it all started with a panic attack when I was measuring my blood pressure, and was sort of worried about heart diseases at that time, so I thought I was having a heart attack. I also noticed that I sort of can control/end those feelings by distracting my thoughts and it goes away. If I continue to pay attention it (worry) it comes and goes in waves and ends within 20 mins. Do you think that it's still could be a seizure even if I can stop it?

Brief Answer:
Seizures can't be controlled.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again XXXX.
Seizures can't be controlled by will.
If you can control your symptoms, by focusing on them, or distracting away, then most probably you have anxiety disorder.
In your case it is a good thing that you can avoid worsening of your condition, so you have and the "remedy " to your symptoms.
Most anxiety patients can't control their symptoms.
I recommend you not to worry more than necessary and go on with your life.
Wishing you good health.
