Brief Answer:
Levipil dose is within normal range.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Levipil can be given upto 3 gm per day. So,it is at the upper limit of the accepted dose range. It will likely be safe. However, you need to be observant for any abnormal behaviour, mood changes, depression like symptoms, personality changes or suicidal tendency-as these are the most common clinically observed side effects of Levipil.

Please take a neurosurgeon's opinion for Glioma.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further question,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.

Thanks so much for your answer.I also want to bring to your notice that when we got the MRI done for second time after about seven weeks the size of the glioma had decreased by about 4mm as we are giving herbal medicine for that. I want to know that in such kind of cases how long it takes to be cured completely of the seizures? If the size reduces ,will the seizures be cured eventually? For the time being neurosurgeons have told that surgery will have to be done though there is no urgency. What do you suggest about gamma knife procedure if surgery becomes necessary? Are these seizures curable or medicines are to be taken for lifelong? Can he continue with his school and physical activities like football?

As follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow up.

Here are pointwise answers to your queries:
1)As seizures are secondary to glioma,so it depends on the management of glioma.Till glioma is there,I can't say that seizures will get cured. So,root cause(i.e,glioma) should be treated here.
2)If glioma is removed or improves somehow, seizures should improve.Though, there is no rule like that.Sometimes, even after the removal of structural cause, patient may keep having seizures. So,saying YES or NO here is not rational.Only the time to come will tell.
3)Neurosurgeon is a better person to tell about the neurosurgery options. Its a better idea if you discuss about gamma knife procedure with a neurosurgeon.
4)Neurosurgeon's opinion should be sought for exact prognosis of seizures. It actually depends on glioma.
5)Seizures are not an indication for restricting one from his academic or routine activities except specific tasks like driving or cooking(where there is a high risk associated).

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further question,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
