What Is The Dosage Of Monotop For Depression?

Question : My dad was under treatment for alcoholism and major depression and anxiety since last one year.

Was taking stablon 12.5 ,baclofen 10 twice a day and amizep h 12.5 , lexapro 10 once a day since last 1 month.

Few days back he got into extreme confusion . standing at gate to go outside all the time .even in night. Not sleeping all night.

When taken to psychiatrist, it was told by psychiatrist that he is under extreme confusion.

So he stopped stablon and amizep out of that and added monotop 100 twice a day and few other medicines with some multivitamins.

So is it okay to start monotop 100 twice a day in such situation?

I can understand your concerns for your father.

In my opinion, it is not a good idea to start monotop at such high dose in this state of confusion. Monotop might further increase the confusion.

I personally give only necessary medications in this state of mind. More the number of drugs, more is the confusion.

A benzo like lorazepam (prescription drug) can help him to get out of this state.

How it should be avoided now.

Can be suddenly stopped or gradually?

If not, it can be stopped immediately. There is no use of giving monotop in my opinion.
