Question : iI haves a daily dose of 160 mgs o sotolol taken morning andnight a high dose for a ninety year old lady excessive?XXXX email address is XXXX
Brief Answer:
dose is normal, check your kidney reports
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, welcome to HCM.
This dose of sotalol is perfectly fine , as it is within the limits only (which is 320 mg per day). However if your kidneys are not functioning to their full, then dosage requires adjustment. But I am sure your doctor must have seen that. Your doctor must have done blood urea, serum creatinine test (you can see the documents or can speak to your doctor). If these tests are normal, you can take sotalol 160 mg twice daily without any hesitation or worry.
I hope I have clarified your question. If you have any follow up questions, please writeto hcm. I wish you good health and long life.
