Brief Answer:
Continue for 5 or more days.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Generic Flagyl (metronidazole) needs to be taken thrice daily for 5 days or longer depending on the severity of the infection. It acts well in anaerobic infections as in diabetic foot ulcer. Alongside, proper dressing is very important.

You still to get him evaluated by a physician. The blood sugar levels and HbA1c levels need to be monitored and kept in control. Proper foot care is also important.

Please be sure to give him rest of today's doses.

Feel free to write back in case of further queries.
