Components of Lipid Profile.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.

- HDL: is a High Density Lipoprotein. Which is considered as good cholesterol. It removes and transport cholesterol from blood vessels to liver and prevent deposition.
It should be more than 40mg/dl in male and more than 50mg/dl in female.

- LDL: is a low Lipoprotein. Which is a bad cholesterol. It is responsible for deposition of cholesterol in blood vessels causing blockages.
It is classified as
< 100 : Optimal
100 to 129 : Near optimal
130 to 159 : Borderline high
160 to 189 : High
> = 190 : Very high.
Optimal level may be lower in person with underlying diabetes with heart disease.
> 160 may require medical treatment in person without any other risk factor of heart disease (Diabetes, Hypertension, Cigarette smoking)

- Tryglycerides: It also a risk factor for heart disease.
