Question : I am a first time xanax taker. I took 1 mg. but broke it into four and to one 1/4 every 2 hours. Is it ok if I take any more if needed to night? thank you.

Yes, you can take up to 1.5mg of Xanax total in 24 hours. Since you have already taken 1mg, you can take an additional 0.5mg today. Do not take more than this as it risks lowering your respiratory rate to a dangerous level.
