Question: Hello doctor my urine pregnancy test is positive is it necessary to take blood test I am 7 weeks pregnant when it is appropriate time for ultrasound scan please suggest me

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

If your urine pregnancy test is positive then blood test is not mandatory.

Blood test is used generally when urine test is non confirmatory as it is more specific.

Ultrasound should be done by 12 weeks once for dating. If everything is normal you can get one scan every three months (trimester).
