Question : hello i recieved a blow on my left upper bone below my knee it was tender for a long time now 40 years later it is starting to hurt again and it has a big knot sticking out, is it possible to remove it it looks terrible it it possible to remove it? If so what is the procedure to take it off?

Thanks for the query.I understand your concern.
The knot at your knee joint can be treated...but before that it needs to be investigated for its nature &origin.
It could be joint inflammation(arthritis) /a synovial membrane cyst, it can be from cartilage - injured years back or it can be a bony spur(random growth of osteophytes)
* Few blood examinations ,x ray or CT scan done as per advise of an Orthopedic surgeon after detailed local examination.would reveal the cause...& can be specific treatment (oral medicines,local injection ,physiotherapy or surgery..whatever is recommended by expert.
*please consult an orthopedic surgeon.
