Question : I had 2 moles removed for biopsy. One was suspected for melanoma and other basal cell carcinoma. The test results are taking longer than expected which means they must be doing additional staining. Does that mean they found something in original stain? Can it still just be benign, precancer or melanoma in situ? Why additional staining?
Brief Answer:
These might be benign
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Yes there are chances that it might be benign.
Additional staining is always done when the initial staining is inconclusive.
Additional staining is done for particular markers to confirm a disease.
Just relax these might be benign.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
