Question: my father is 72 year old.since 2 years he has difficulity in speaking&from last 6 months he has difficulity in swolloing,chewing&saliva falls&hand shivering

Detailed Answer: Dear Sir, Thank you for asking your query on XXXXXXX Well looking into the query there are two main possibilities one it can be a parkinsons disease , all the symptoms like hand tremors , difficulty in swallowing etc can present in this disease . Other can be a stroke which has occured and lead to such symptoms even persisting after resolution of acute symptomatology . Just by these symptoms it will not be possible to give you a diagnosis , It is very essential for your father to be examined by a neurologist as there are many other symptoms that need to be examined physically . All the cranial nerves need to be examined to see if bulbar palsy is not there because difficulty in swallowing and dribbling of saliva can result in that only .
