Question : I am 69 years old. I have been having watery motions after taking food in the morning. Infact i usually have one normal motion and the moment I take food of any type, watery motion follows. I underwent Gall bladder removal surgery one year back and since then this symptom is there. Before surgery also i was identified with IBS with frequent watery motions after taking food but not in the morning but in the afternoon. I dont get any such problems during evenings . I have undergone colonoscopy twice once in 2012 and again in 2014 besides endoscopy. The results had been negative both times. My doctor advised me to take udiliv300mg stating that after gall bladder surgery some people have excess bile acid in intestines which could be the cause for watery motions. I recently got my liver tests done for hepatitis B and C besides liver profile test. the sgpt came out 43.2 and biliburin .21. My cholestral levels are normal. I take cilacar 10 mg for my hypertension and urimax for my prostate BPH. I also take Homocheck and Mcalvit as supplements. Is there any thing else I should do for diagonosing my problem

i wiegh about 76 kgs and have not lost weight since last 3 to 4 years though during the last 3 months i seem to have lost about 1 kg. I have been on bland food like curds, butter milk, rice and vegetables without any spices since about 15 days as I am presently taking some ayurvedic medicines for my stomach problems.

Brief Answer:
Could be IBS

Detailed Answer:
With regards.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history regarding IBS in the past with frequent watery motions after taking food in the afternoon, not like now it is in the morning; gall bladder removal, Normal LFTs, Endoscopy and colonoscopy, History of medicines food habits and all.

With the history you have provided, I think this is IBS.
Definitely added on by gall bladder removal as the bile is going to flow continuously in the small intestine as the storehouse is removed. This may have some impact on the timing of the loose motions, now shifted to the morning after having some food.

I would advise you the Following:
Re-consult your Doctor ans discuss about the possible treatment for IBS.
Permutation and combination with foods and beverages in such a way that it may be possible to find out whether a particular food is causing more problems. You can start with stopping of the milk and milk products for 10 days just to see if there is any improvement. The re-start and try with other foods. This way sometimes the culprit food / additives / beverages can be found and should be stopped altogether.
Tests: Loose stool for analysis for 3 days / times.
Control of stress and anxiety if you have. This helps the maximum in IBS.

I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications if you feel there is a gap of communication.
