Brief Answer:
Ureter identification is not necessary for this type of surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

During laparoscopic hysterectomy there is no possibility to harm ureters. Please note that ureters are located outside abdominal cavity (in extraperitoneal space) and uterine is located inside abdominal cavity. There is no direct contact between this two structures.
So the risk of any conflict with ureter during hysterectomy is hardly possible. And this makes ureter identification unnecessary.
Ureter can be identified by urologist who is able to put special catheter inside it so surgeon can palpate it. But this is done in case of large intestine surgeries for example.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
