Question : My roommates girlfriends mother apparently started to feel a slight cold on Friday 6/19. She was tested positive for Covid 19 on Tuesday 6/23. My roommate was around her on Sunday 6/21 for Father’s Day. As a result my roommate, his girlfriend and I got tested this past weekend. The results have yet to arrive. However, none of us have a single symptom and I have tried my best to maintain distance from my roommate, granted we live under the same roof. We are waiting for results, however what is your opinion on going on vacation tomorrow 7/2? Still no symptoms and it has been 10 days since my roommate came back from being around his girlfriends mom and has been in the vicinity of me.

Brief Answer:
No need to worry. You will not get positive result.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
No need to worry for this.
You will not test positive.
It's already 7 days of exposure. Usually, patient who is infected show symptoms within 7 days of exposure.
Since you are asymptomatic during these 7 days, possibility of getting positive result is very very less.
So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
