Question : 5 weeks ago was given 2 vit k subcut injections, one each arm, some reaction to both. A week later commenced on prednisalone 60 mgs now at 10mgs for treatment of viral hepatitis. Still awaiting liver biopsy results. Whilst on prednisalone rash on either arm never went away but on reducing down this has flared and worse than in the beginning have briefly tried hyrocordisone cream 1% , no change. Do younthink higher dosevtopic cream from gp may help ?do not wish to re increase prednisalone as had bad side effects re same many thanks

Brief Answer:
Add an antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
About high dose corticosteroids.. This is why I would recommend that you add an antihistaminic as citrizine once daily before going to bed or topical anti-histamines as Benadryl cream three times daily.. If no improvement occurred then you should take antihistaminic shots as avil shots every other day for one week.
I hope you find this helpful.
