Question : What precautionary measures should be taken prior to performing surgery , laser, or injecting a patient with a documented acute tendency to keloid?
Brief Answer:
Details below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
While performing surgery in a patient of keloidal tendency one should take care of the suturing .
The wound should not gape, it should not get infected, the size of the wound should be as small as possible and it should be done under strict cover of antibiotics.
Keloidal tendency is a contraindication for performing laser treatment.
Even with laser it is important to avoid any burns or injuries.
While injecting also the amount of trauma should be kept minimal.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
