Question : I am suffering from Chicken pox and what are the precautions do i need to take I got to know about it today.

Brief Answer: Chicken pox is a viral Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your on HealthcareMagic. Chicken pox is a highly contagious infection caused by varricella zoster virus. It will stay for a few days and will go away on its own. Nothing specifically helps in getting better soon. Though antibiotics are sometimes prescribed, but even those will not help. Their only role is to prevent pus formation (bacterial infection) in the vesicles. You may avoid picking on the vesicles. Wash your hands more often. Take bath with a milder soap like baby soap. Do not apply anything on lesions. They will dry out faster XXXXXXX the body dry, do not rub it with towel. Baths or cold compresses every 3 or 4 hours help relieve the discomfort. Eat soft and bland foods as swallowing may be painful. Avoid scratching the sores. Stay away from people who are noit vaccinated against chicken pox. Hope it helps. Dr Vaishalee
