default
Posted on Thu, 15 May 2014
Question: My sister has been vomiting continuously since yesterday. When we consulted a doctor, he took a scan and mentioned that there is a blockage between small and large intestine and an operation needs to be done. I am really worried and is not with my sister right now. The operation is scheduled for tomorrow. I just wanted to know whether this will be a major or minor operation and is there anything to worry? What all precautions should she take after the opertaion?

Brief Answer:
DO not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

It is a Major Operation . Can you tell me the scan report and what is the cause of obstruction so that i can tell if there is anything to worry or not.

After the operation she will be not allowed to eat anything for a few days for the wound to heal.

She needs to keep the area of incision clean and dry.

She needs to be mobilized by 12 hours of surgery to prevent any clot formation in legs.
